Child Safety Standards
Last updated: 8 July 2026
Glowva has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves to, how we detect and act on violations, and how to report a concern. Glowva is operated by Glowva Ltd.
1. Zero Tolerance
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any form of child sexual exploitation or abuse have no place on Glowva. This includes sexualised imagery of minors, grooming behaviour, sextortion, requests for sexual content from or about minors, and links or references directing to such material anywhere. There are no warnings and no second chances: violations result in immediate account termination and reports to the appropriate authorities.
2. Who Can Use Glowva
Glowva is currently open to people aged 16 and over. Accounts identified as belonging to anyone under the minimum age are removed. Because parts of Glowva are anonymous by design, we treat any interaction that sexualises or targets someone presenting as a minor with the same severity regardless of the account's stated age.
3. How We Detect Violations
Every image and video uploaded to Glowva is scanned before it is published or delivered to anyone. Our moderation pipeline is layered: uploads are checked against hash databases of previously identified abusive content, then analysed by automated detection systems built to flag sexual content and content involving minors. Written content, voice messages, and private messages are also subject to automated moderation, and flagged borderline content is escalated to human review. No detection system is perfect, which is why automated scanning, human review, and user reporting all work together.
4. What Happens When We Find It
When our systems or moderators identify apparent CSAM:
- • The content is blocked immediately and is never distributed to any user.
- • The account involved is terminated.
- • Evidence is preserved securely so that reports to authorities are complete and actionable.
- • We report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline and cooperate with law enforcement in the UK, US, and internationally, including responding to lawful requests for information.
5. How to Report a Concern
Every post, comment, profile, and message on Glowva can be reported from its menu (⋮ → Report). Reports involving the safety of a child are prioritised ahead of all other moderation work. You can also contact us directly at [email protected] — mark the subject "Child Safety" and it will be treated as urgent. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police first. You can also report directly to NCMEC's CyberTipline or, in the UK, the Internet Watch Foundation.
6. Our Legal Obligations
Glowva complies with applicable child-safety law, including reporting obligations to the NCMEC CyberTipline under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A and our duties under the UK Online Safety Act. These standards are reviewed as the law and our platform evolve.
